Support Us

At Cats Protection we welcome volunteers with open arms, whether you are young or old, male or female, there's a place for you with us!

Why become a volunteer?

Volunteering is the most worthwhile thing you can ever do. It gives a real sense of achievement, allows the development of new skills and the social possibilities are endless!

Much of Cats Protection's work is carried out by volunteers, many of whom have full time jobs too. You can do lots of different things at a branch, from hands on work with the cats as a fosterer or feline chauffeur, to public relations or fundraising. If you have a skill then we can use it! All you need to do is get in touch with us.

Sound good?

If you are tempted to join us, please contact Vanessa on 0845 371 1851. We will be delighted to hear from you and thank you for your interest in Cats Protection!

Some of the areas you could help include-

  • To transport cats to the vet and/or return them

  • To conduct pre-adoption home visits

  • Cat lovers to spend time socialising (laps, cat talk, fussing over and may be a game or two) with the cats in our care in order to maintain human contact

  • Fosterers (Cat Carers) to temporarily house cats while waiting to be homed -this can be done ina spare room or in a purpose built cat pen (provided) in your garden! All expenses are paid for, and the role gives great satidfaction. Quite simply, we cannot operate without Fosterers!

If you can help with any of the following please contact Janet on 01923 - 400520

  • To help at stalls and jumbles

  • To help with street collections

  • To help transport goods to events

  • To grow plants to sell at events

  • To help transport equipment and goods to events or a stall

  • Donate bric- a -brac, unwanted gifts, cat related goods etc.

SPONSOR A CAT PEN TODAY!

We are offering you a unique opportunity to sponsor a cat pen for one year.

Our pens are used to temporarily home cats that come to us through no fault of their own-

  • strays looking for foster homes

  • long term cats

  • ferals

  • cats that people hand in to us because they can't keep them any more e.g. have become allergic to them; had to move to different accommodation where they can't have pets; divorce; made homeless; the cat being bullied by another one in the household, etc. etc.

We make them as comfortable as possible, give them lots of TLC, good food and veterinary care as required. This can all be extremely expensive.

It's not like a real home with their own person/dedicated slave, but a temporary refuge until the right person comes along to offer them a new home. We would welcome your contribution to their well-being.
